THE ALZHEIMER’S SHOW NAMES KEY SPONSOR FOR 2014 & 2015 SHOWS – SWEETTREE HOME CARE SERVICES
17 September 2013: To build on the success of this year’s show, The Alzheimer’s Show will return to London next year at the larger venue, Olympia London. To support the show’s growth and the extension of the scope of experts, presentations, workshops and seminars, the organisers, Draw Events is pleased to announce SweetTree Home Care Services as the key event partner.
SweetTree Home Care Services exhibited at the 2013 show. It was able to help present the positive message that there are organisations, services and products available to people living with or caring for someone with dementia and its related illnesses.
“Having been a part of The Alzheimer’s Show in 2013, we know just how effectively the show environment can communicate with the hundreds of thousands of individuals, families and professionals having to deal with the challenges presented by dementia every day of their lives.Next year we are keen to play a greater role in delivering positive solutions to the dementia challenge,” explained Barry Sweetbaum of SweetTree Home Care Services.
The Alzheimer’s Show 2014 will continue to deliver on the Prime Minister’s dementia challenge and build on the positive foundations for change built last year. It will again be held over two days – Friday 16 and Saturday 17 May 2014. The bigger venue reflects the unprecedented visitor numbers in 2013 and the demand from potential exhibitors for space at the 2014 show.
Already, 35% of exhibition space has been taken, with exhibitors including care homes, providers of assistive technologies, charities, legal professionals and therapists. Sales officially open on Wednesday 18 September 2014.
“Interest in exhibition space is high. We have had enquiries from almost all of those who had space last year as well as new interest from businesses and organisations that recognise the strength of voice and community that The Alzheimer’s Show brings to the dementia community,” explained Nigel Ward, director of The Alzheimer’s Show.
There will be many new interactive features in 2014 and The Alzheimer’s Show will be looking for businesses and organisations to provide show case products in addition to their stand presence. More details will be available over the coming months.
“Next year, and in 2015, we will be working with the organisers, Draw Events to support new show features will provide practical workshops, demonstrations and the chance to try out products, services and therapies that help to address the dementia challenge. 2014 will also see the SweetTree Quiet Lounge, a room set-up to provide a quite place for visitors to wait in the care of dementia specialists,” explained Barry Sweetbaum.
Visitors to The Alzheimer’s Show 2014 will also have the opportunity to spend time with professional carers and therapists, learning techniques and seeing for themselves how products, solutions and therapies can make living with dementia easier.
In 2013 nearly 1,800 people attended The Alzheimer’s Show over the two days, with 65% of these visitors caring for a family member or friend who has dementia. The remaining visitors were either professional carers or those with an interest in learning more about dementia and the impact it has on people living in their own communities.
Feedback from visitors following the April 2013 show was extremely positive. Over 90% said that they plan to visit The Alzheimer’s Show again next year. A video of the event, and reviews from many of the visitors to the 2013 show, can be viewed on The Alzheimer’s Show website at http://alzheimersshow.co.uk/
“The Alzheimer’s Show was a really first rate event, with an excellent mixture of attendees. These included people with dementia, their family, carers and the professionals who support them. There was something truly for everyone,” said Professor Martin Green, OBE, the Chief Executive of ECCA, the largest representative body for community care in England and speaker at the first The Alzheimer’s Show.
