AUTUMN UPDATE

After a hectic spring and summer, as autumn approaches we look back at the success of the two Alzheimer’s Shows in 2014 and look forward to an exciting year in 2015.

We are delighted that 2014 saw a bigger event in London, running at Olympia and our first show in the North at EventCity, Manchester. Over 3,000 public and professional visitors attended the only shows dedicated to dementia and met over 100 exhibitors showcasing the very best and latest dementia care products.

Many exhibitors have already rebooked for London 2015 on 5-6 June and we will be confirming the dates for Manchester shortly.

Unique support

The Alzheimer’s Show is proud to have the continued support of Alzheimer’s Society, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Dementia UK – the leading charitable organisations in the sector. Their support demonstrates the importance and need for an event dedicated to the biggest social care issue we face today.

SweetTree to continue as headline sponsor

“We’re delighted be headline sponsors of the Alzheimer’s Show 2015, the single most important event for people who deal with dementia on a daily basis” explains Barry Sweetbaum, managing director of SweetTree.

Earlier this year SweetTree launched the National Dementia Carers Day in association with Alzheimer’s Society and Dementia UK. We are proud to be a supporter of this annual event and are delighted that the first dementia carers training sessions from this initiative will feature at the London 2015 show.

London 2015

Alongside the popular Admiral Nurses 1-2-1 Clinics, the three theatres and new and returning exhibitors, the 2015 show will feature a larger Practical Activities Workshop allowing even more visitors to take part in a diverse range of sessions designed to help in the care of a person with dementia.

As part of the exciting speaker programme being developed, we can confirm that Alzheimer’s Research UK will be running, for the first time, a Research Q&A for visitors to put questions directly to their scientists and Hilda Hayo, Chief Admiral Nurse and CEO at Dementia UK will be speaking about young-onset dementia. Over 30% of visitors to the Dementia UK stand this year were concerned about this.
