THE ALZHEIMER’S SHOW APPOINTS NEW ONLINE EDITOR IN INNOVATIVE NEW CONTENT DRIVE

The Alzheimer’s Show has appointed Christina Macdonald as Online Editor in a new content drive for its recently revamped website. The Alzheimer’s Show, which attracted over 2,000 visitors to its unique two-day event in June this year, is keen to inform and educate those affected by dementia, including the public, healthcare professionals, families and carers, and those who have been diagnosed. The addition of a new Online Editor means that informative and useful content will be uploaded to the site regularly, making it a valuable resource for anyone affected by dementia and seeking help, advice and accessible information.

Macdonald is a highly experienced writer and editor with more than 25 years of media experience. She is the former Editor of Women’s Fitness and Editor-in-Chief of Women’s Running magazines (the latter won three industry awards during her five years at the helm), and also has a personal connection to dementia. Her mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2009 and Macdonald has seen first hand the extent of the impact that dementia can have on those affected. She says: ‘It’s a real honour to work with The Alzheimer’s Show to generate useful and informative content to help those affected by dementia. Some content will be based on my personal experience of caring for my mother, but the site will also contain a mix of interviews with professionals and experts, as well as informative articles on coping with dementia.’

Macdonald adds: ‘When you are personally affected by dementia, it can be hard to know which way to turn and what to do next, and it can be an isolating and stressful experience, so I truly hope that the site will be a consistently useful resource for those affected by the disease.’

The Alzheimer’s Show is the UK’s only two-day event dedicated to those affected by dementia and takes place on 10-11th June 2016 at London’s Olympia. The show aims to bring together the dementia community by showcasing key products and services under one roof alongside the leading dementia experts.
