What Our Exhibitors Get Out of Attending the Alzheimer’s Show

We caught up with MindforYou Holidays to ask them about their experience attending the Alzheimer’s Show.

carolsargentcardartMindforYou offers supported UK holidays throughout the year, for people throughout their journey with dementia. The Leicestershire-based social business was founded by Carol Sargent, who wanted to provide such opportunities after experiencing her own mother’s dementia. Since 2015, Carol and her team have taken hundreds of guests to 13 different locations across Britain – providing respite for carers and personalising holidays to individual needs.

How MindforYou Benefits from Attending the Show

MindforYou shall be attending the Alzheimer’s Show at The Olympia this year, and they cannot wait! Attending the Alzheimer’s Show is so valuable to MindforYou for many reasons. As they say themselves:

“The show gives us the opportunity to create fantastic partnerships with new and exciting organisations. This year we are hoping to make some successful partnership like the one we have had with the Police Mutual Fund for the last 3 years. We find it’s THE place to learn of unique, innovative services and activities that we can use on our holidays, as well as sign post our guests to. Of course, it’s also a great place to network with relevant professionals and listen to presentations from many key opinion leaders. Lastly, we really value the opportunity to share our free tickets with our guests, so they can experience the show for themselves.”

They went on to describe how they are able to get in front of their ideal target audience through attending the Show:

“Due to the Alzheimer’s Show being the biggest of it’s kind in the UK, its where we find our largest, most knowledgeable audience. It’s brilliant to hear from visitors first-hand how we can improve our service for future guests and share our own learnings from our many holidays in person rather than with our online advice on our website.

This year we are bringing our partner company @DrivingMissDaisyUK along with us to the show. Come and learn how their companion driving service provides a fantastic door to door service for our guests, and how they could help you.”

Speaking at the Show

Carol, the MindforYou CEO, will be speaking on Friday 7th at 4:00pm about ‘Why you should choose MindforYou?’. Learn how in some ways their holidays are like any other – allowing people to do the things they’ve always enjoyed. But they’re also unique – with the personal support to make the holiday possible and worry free. Hear how people on the holiday can enjoy ultimate relaxation and reassurance, while MindforYou will also be sharing their findings on the real benefits carers of and people living with dementia gain from the service. Which helps to explain why over 50% of their guests go on two or more holidays a year.

Finally, MindforYou will be running a competition at the show this year for the chance to win a free MindforYou holiday! Visit them on stand F12 to enter and hear what destinations you can choose from.
