We believe that with the right information, practical advice and support, it is possible to live well with dementia.

The Alzheimer’s Show is a two-day event for public, family carers, healthcare professionals and anyone who wants to learn more about dementia. It offers advice and insight from expert speakers and those living with dementia and provides informative Q&A sessions, free advice clinics from Admiral Nurses and The Law Society, as well as interactive practical workshops. If you are worried about dementia, and seeking practical advice and information, come along to the show and meet experts and care exhibitors showcasing products and services.

[services_small title=”Show features” icon=”moon-palette” dynamic_content_type=”content”]Free legal advice.  The Law Society is running a series of one to one advice surgeries with highly experienced and qualified solicitors.

Free consultation with Admiral Nurse. These popular 1-2-1 clinics allow visitors to have a free 25- minute confidential consultation with a Dementia UK Admiral Nurse.

Get active. On the BAT & Butterfly Vs. Alzheimer’s Table Tennis stand take part in a table tennis challenge with a specifically designed table and bat and discover how this activity can help in the early stages of dementia.

Take a break. SweetTree Home Care Services will be operating a Quiet Room run by a specialist dementia team. Visitors can leave a person with dementia in a restful and calm environment whilst they explore the show.

‘Wall of Recall’. The theme of this year’s Wall is 1966 and it will feature events, trends, plus occurrences from this most seminal of years. These will include Sport, News Topics, Media, Fashion, Music, Design & Advertising, Cinema & Television. In collaboration with: Call to Mind, The History of Advertising Trust, The Mary Evans Picture Library and Sporting Memories.

Read more about the features[/services_small][services_small title=”Conference Programme” icon=”steadysets-icon-book2″ dynamic_content_type=”content”]Hear from the experts. In The Alzheimer’s Matters Theatre leading professionals will speak on a range of topics including research, Alzheimer’s without dementia, managing behaviour, risk reduction, end of life care and daily Question Time sessions. Also, listen to Keith Oliver (Fri) and Chris Roberts (Sat) sharing their personal experiences of living with dementia. 

Practical help and advice tips. The Alzheimer’s Talks and Topics Theatre will feature professionals covering a range of topics including the Mental Capacity Act, legal issues, personal budgets, carers support and carers sharing experiences.

Learn about what’s new. The Exhibitor Workshop Theatre will showcase the latest and best products and services from many of the exhibitors in short, interactive sessions. Topics include dementia environments, technology, activities and Young Onset Dementia.

Get involved. Take part in The Practical Activities Workshop with sessions designed to help people supporting those with dementia. Activities include singing, horticulture, seated yoga, art and an introduction to Cognitive Stimulation Therapy.

Alzheimer’s in the Frame: ‘Memorable Icons’

View an exclusive collection of original artworks created for The Alzheimer’s Show by a range of highly acclaimed and talented artists. The collection features famous icons – including Margaret Thatcher, Rita Hayworth and Prunella Scales, all of whom either lived or are living with dementia. This unique project is part of our ongoing aim to help raise awareness of dementia.
